Privacy Policy

1. What we collect
When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture. We store your email address to associate your account with your subscription plan.
If you connect Google Drive, we access the documents you explicitly select. We do not store the content of your documents — text is processed in memory and discarded after your session.
We store your subscription status (free, Pro, or Ghost) and the associated Stripe customer ID. We do not store payment card details — those are handled entirely by Stripe.
2. How we use your data
- To authenticate you and maintain your session
- To enforce your plan's word limits and feature access
- To process payments and manage your subscription via Stripe
- To write humanized text back to Google Docs when you request it
We do not sell your data. We do not use your documents to train models. We do not share your information with third parties except as described below.
3. Third-party services
- Google OAuth — used for sign-in and Google Docs access
- Stripe — used for payment processing and subscription management
- Neon — our database provider, hosted on AWS. Stores account and subscription data only.
4. Google API scopes
Hoodwink requests the following Google permissions:
- drive.readonly — to list and read the Google Docs you select
- documents — to write humanized content back into your document
We only access documents you explicitly open within the app. We do not browse, index, or retain your Drive files.
Hoodwink's use of Google user data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
5. Data retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account or request deletion, we will remove your email, subscription data, and Stripe customer record within 30 days.
Document content is never stored — it is processed in memory during your session only.
6. Your rights
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us via our Discord server. We will process requests within 30 days.
7. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Hoodwink after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
